Cockerellites (Priscacara) liops #4

149.95 199.95

As many of you may know, Green River Fishing is what I do best! This fantastic, unique specimen comes from a private 18” layer quarry just across from the Fossil Butte National Monument Boundaries.

Special Sale on ALL Green River Fish to celebrate our GRAND OPENING! Sale prices valid until 11:59PM on January 28, 2019.

All of the fossil fish that I post for sale are 100% original unless posted otherwise (I’ll make it obvious!)NO repairs, NO paint, NO restoration!

This is a very nice quality average sized Cockerellites liops (formerly Priscacara). With lovely fins and scales still present, this is what makes the Green River Formation so much fun! This fish comes from the 18” layer where they are much more plentiful than other layers, however they are still uncommon.

The Green River Formation of Southwestern Wyoming is probably one of the most famous fossil sites in the world. Known for it’s exceptional preservation and diversity of species, the Green River Formation should be on every fossil lover’s bucket list!

Eocene - Wyoming, U.S.A. - 52 million years old

The size of the matrix is approximately 12” x 10” x 0.5” the fish itself measures approximately: 5.0” (Slightly above average for this species!)
