Iridescent Ammonite - Madagascar

129.95

Another fantastic specimen that is just impossible to get good pictures of!

The flashes of red and purple in this ammonite are absolutely stunning! The back side of this piece has a highly opalescent center swirl and has been polished to a near mirror finish!

Found in the Cretaceous sea deposits of Madagascar, this ammonite once swam through ancient seas with creatures such as Mosasaurs, Pliosaurs, and sharks! Their hard outer shell protected them from all but the most aggressive predators.

Ammonite measures approximately 5.75” across and is over 1” thick!
