Join our team in Dinosaur, Colorado as you uncover bones from some of the largest animals to ever walk the Earth, sauropod dinosaurs! Dating back roughly 150 million years, the preservation of these animals will stun you!

The main goal of this trip to assist in the recovery of large specimens that could one day end up in a museum. Participants will be able to keep a few smaller fossils, but most specimens will stay with the quarry for further preparation and study.

Adventure into the 150 million year old stomping grounds of some of America’s most recognizable dinosaurs Camarasaurus, Allosaurus, and Apatosaurus, as well as some of their more obscure cousins such as Othneliosaur, Torvosaur, and Diplodocus. This is a research quarry and several highly important specimens have come from it.

We will meet at 12:00pm on Friday May 15, 2020 in at Dinosaur national Monument in Dinosaur, Colorado. From there we will travel up to the camp site together and get settled in before the campfire stories start and dinner is served. Dinner Friday night is included in the trip costs. Alcohol is NOT included, and will not be available.

Saturday begins from the onsite cabins at 8:30am, and a camp breakfast will await! Following breakfast you and the crew will spend the next 4 hours digging some of the most productive layers that the Morrison Formation has to offer. Lunch will be provided for you in the quarry. Saturday will conclude with a talk from your tour guide who will show incredible finds and share personal stories. After the talk, the team will be offered a short hike before dinner to explore more of the area. Dinner Saturday night is included in the trip costs. Alcohol is NOT included, and will not be available.

Sunday morning May 17, 2020 we will once again meet for breakfast before diving into another 4 hours of fossil hunting! Sunday is your last day to search for that fantastic, once-in-a-lifetime find. Lunch will be provided. We will depart from the quarry about 2:00 pm and your hands will be full of exceptional specimens that YOU collected*!

*Rare species or those deemed scientifically significant must stay with the quarry. There may be opportunity to purchase rare finds from the quarry owner.
