scientific discoveries

Moments In Stone chooses to work closely with several museums and schools. Over the course of our adventures we have helped to uncover, donate, and assist with the publication of several specimens that now reside in museums around the world. Moments In Stone has even had the chance to name TWO new species (with hopefully another on the way!) and we hope to continue this tradition for many more years!

While our digs are designed for you to keep much of what you will find, rest assured that anything scientifically important that you are not allowed to keep will end up in the hands of a recognized institution for future generations to enjoy!

reviews

"The Annual Fossil Fish dig was educational and fun. Being out in the field gave us a completely different experience. The trip leaders made sure everyone was engaged and had their questions answered. The specialized talks about the region from the experts helped put the dig into perspective, adding another layer to the experience."

- Tani and David Kickham

“If your bucket list includes digging up a never before seen 52 million year old fossil, join Blake in Wyoming. New discoveries with every stroke of your hammer. You will be talking about your fish for years!

- Doug Hartshorn
